Countdown to UNDER THESE RESTLESS SKIES: Day 8 Excerpt

Under These Restless Skies will be released on February 20, and every day until then, I'll be posting a small excerpt. You can check out the book's blog here, including more excerpts and information on the Tudor historical characters in the story, and the legend of the selkies on which the story is based.

Today's Excerpt:

“Henry would command men’s hearts if he could, but all he can compel are those words. But he cannot compel them from men of principle, like Thomas More and Bishop Fisher. They have both refused and are to be charged with treason... As we left for the garden, the Duke of Norfolk called out to More, something in Latin. More translated it for me. Indignatio principis mors est.” Will lifted his head to look Emma in the eyes. “The anger of the king is death.”
