The entire novel, which I've tentatively titled Daughter of the Wind and Waves, clocked in at around 60K, but I already had a start before I began NaNoWriMo. I'm estimating I'm at about the half-way point in the story, so I still have a lot of work to do.
This is the first novel that I haven't "pre-written" in my head, and so it makes me very nervous. I finally broke down and got a pre-reader, and she assures me it's a good story, but I worry about ones I've re-written and revised in my head a a dozen times, let alone something I'm working out as I go.
Still, it's a challenge, and I think every writer can benefit from trying new things, if only for the learning experience. NaNoWriMo helped keep me motivated and that's another experience I'm glad I had.
Congratulations!!!! I'm so proud of you!
